Avira seems to be exactly what they are supposedly trying to protect users from. Pop ups, always trying to upsell their service, not providing any protection besides a scan, no customer support for people who don't pay for their service, hidden files which are very hard to find, not allowing the installation of other protective software, etc. There must be a way to disable the Avira Launcher which will hopefully allow people to install other protective software, but even if that works, Avira will still be on their computer.Īvira seems just like malware to me. I have already reinstalled Avira twice, but I still can't figure out how to completely remove the program from my computer. I can not find it easily at all, but the Avira Launcher (generic) keeps reinstalling itself with every reboot. The problem is that there is no Avira icon in my apps & features. I have followed all the instructions provided by Avast to remove their software.
